The Township Committee adopted the 2011 Budget at the May 10, 2011 meeting. The spending plan calls for a 2 cent tax increase, despite a loss of state aid and a decrease in the township's overall assessed valuation. The 2011 budget is $594,000 less than the 2010 budget. 2009 Homestead Rebates: Updates to our tax records for the 2009 Homestead Rebate have been completed. Rebates for those who qualified will be applied to the second quarter 2011 tax amount due. Revised billings detailing the rebate amount and the new tax amount due have been mailed. Property owners who have their taxes paid through a mortgage escrow account will receive an "advice only" bill for their information. The mortgage company will deduct the amount of rebate from the second quarter tax amount due, and remit payment to the municipality as usual. Tax payments are due May 1, 2011. 1,021 property owners qualified for the rebate, totaling $178,200.93. The average rebate was less than $175.00. The total cost to the township for processing the rebate was $997.02, and the state will reimburse $612.60 of that amount; net cost to the township was $384.42.

PROPOSAL RESULTS: Municipal Building Minor Repairs & Painting - The Township has accepted the proposal submitted by Prince's Painting for the above-referenced project. The following proposals were received:

Columbia Road Tire Removal The Township has received funding from Atlantic County to remove the tires from our recently acquired property on Columbia Road. On September 14th, 2010, Township Committee awarded the bid to Carbon Service Corp. The work was completed October 31, 2010 and 903 tons of tires were removed. In 2006, Carbon Services removed 2,166 tires from the site.
The New Jersey Pinelands Commission has announced the lineup for this year's Pinelands Speaker Series, which features a variety of educational presentations that will be held at the Commission's headquarters in Pemberton Township, Burlington County. Please note that these are free presentations, save for the rain barrel workshop. The cost to participate in the rain barrel workshop is $45, which includes materials to make a 55-gallon rain barrel that participants will take home with them. All of the tools to make the rain barrels will be provided.
FREE VACCINES: Atlantic County Health Department is giving free preventative vaccinations Monday through Friday in Northfield and Hammonton for Gardasil, Meningococcal, TDAP, Pneumococcal. To schedule an appointment contact the Health Department at 645-5933. Everyone can participate regardless of income or health insurance status.
Cross County Connection is pleased to inform you of a new shuttle service. Beginning August 30th a new shuttle service between Egg Harbor Rail Station and Transportation Authority (SJTA) and stops at the following locations: Egg Harbor Rail Station, Richard Stockton College of NJ, FAA Technical Center, and Atlantic City International Airport. There is no charge to ride the shuttle which operates Monday through Friday. Mullica Police announce promotions - At the September 28th Township Committee Meeting, Officer Brian Zeck was promoted to Sergeant, and Officer Erik Carricarte was promoted to Corporal. The promotions will be effective October 1, 2010.
Also at the meeting it was announced that Officer Anthony Trivelli will be assigned to the Detective Bureau, to fill the position vacated by Sgt. Zeck's promotion. Ryan Spencer was appointed as a Special Class II Officer, and will be working part-time. Congratulations to all.
August 10th, 2010: ATLANTIC COUNTY CLERK SATELLITE Office opens at the Hamilton Mall. The office will enable residents to apply for passports, receive county photo ID cards, register business trade names, in addition to many other services the Clerk's Office provides.
The Hamilton Mall satellite office will be open on Tuesdays between 10 AM and 5 PM and on Saturdays between 10 AM and 2 PM. It is located near the back entrance of the Mall adjacent to Sears
