County Route 542, NESCO ROAD, between Columbia  and Road Jackson Road is being reconstructed as part of the Atlantic County Highway Improvement Program.  Atlantic County is making every effort to minimize any inconvenience this may create.  However, this project may require temporary road closings, detours or traffic delays as well as short term driveway closings.  The reconstruction is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 22.  If you have any questions contact Atlantic County Division of Engineer at 645-5898.

Last August alone, six children drowned in swimming pools across New Jersey. Already this year, four children have drowned.

Drowning is one of the leading causes of child deaths, and tragedies like these are a sad reminder that accidents can happen in a matter of moments. A child can drown in just a few inches of water within seconds - often without any splashing or screaming.  More information on keeping you children safe can be found at the State of New Jersey Department of Children and Family website: http://www.nj.gov/dcf/safety/campaigns/water.html

Peterson's Monuments in Egg Harbor City has very graciously agreed to move the monument from the old VFW Hall to the Municipal Building. Donations are currently being accepted to fund this project, estimated to cost $7,500. If you would like to make a donation, please make your check payable to "Mullica Township Community Events Trust", and mail to Township of Mullica, PO Box 317, Elwood, NJ 08217 Attn: Finance.
